The Wealth of Nations?

In the wake of recent Bank blunders that facilitated Billionaire’s safe passage to take it away from the homeland and leaving the honest hardworking taxpayers to their ill-fate the total will cross 25,000 Crore mark soon, it seems. Either it be a NPA or a LOC/U or any other type of ‘Advance’, it is sheer negligence on the parts of governing systems of these transactions and it doesn’t require special intelligence to understand that the neglectors are rewarded sufficiently in this loathsome nexus of authorities in the areas of concern.Despite of many allegations on and controversies about Mr. Godfrey Bloom who was the Member of the European Parliament for 10 years (2004 – 2014), his aggressive attacks on the banking systems calling the reserve bank fraud and fractured cant be ignored safely as usual. No matter what reputation Mr. Bloom has at his own Yorkshire and the Humber constituency or at the British Parliament at large, all the accusations he has made and concerns he has raised from time to time in the parliament are genuine, reasonable and coming right from the bottom of his heart, given to his background and stature.

Another important thing to note here is all the alarms Mr. Bloom has belled and tried to show the pitfalls down the line if the same path is followed. There are always these voices that act as the conscious-keeper of the society and with their relentless whistle-blowing try to wake up the ‘Public’ who should act in cohesion to avoid disasters that are imminent.  This series of his assertive speeches in the parliament happened around 2013 and Brexit happened in 2016, whether there is a link, is a subject of research for the economists and policy makers and, if undertaken, it might prove to be an informative piece of documentation of a particular phenomenon at a point in modern times.

It would be interesting to imagine what the Scottish Economist and Moral Philosopher Adam Smith has to say about such Wealth of Nations…?

While all these scams are being revealed one after another and however disgusting, obscene and shameful it is getting, the cockfight fueled by the blame-game between the Ruling and Opposition parties is at its peak, the State of Tamil Nadu is living up to it’s reputation of making their ‘Superheros’ their Political Leaders! Following on the footprints of MG Ramchandran, M Karunanidhi, Sivaji Ganesan and Jayalalithaa, the new kid on the block is Mr. Hindustani – Kamal Hassan. The Actor launched his Political Party ‘Makkal Needhi Maiam‘ – which translates to ‘Center for People’s Justice’ – with lot of promise(s) and has tried to put his best foot forward by starting his political journey by visiting Sir APJ Abdul Kalam – The People’s President’s modest house at Rameswaram and proved his political acumen, at least for the first move!

Kamal declared ‘an honest war against corruption’ as guiding vision and motto of his newly launched party and shared the dais with the Aam Aadami who stirred the nation with similar slogans about 5 years ago. Although AK is never ‘charged’ for any financial conspiracy or discrepancy yet, his performance, influence and impact has remained extremely constrained and far from the promise he brought with him, particularly by his background, expression and intent. Kamal, on the other hand, has always been a fine Actor and has seemed to ‘live’ the characters he played on the screen – may it be Rakesh in Zara Si Zindagi or Senapathy in Hindustani or record-setting Ten Different Characters in Dasavathaaram. Kamal’s versatility, sincerity and commitment is unmatched no doubt when it comes to acting, but how he deals with the seasoned politicians who are able to play 100 characters in a day when he locks horns with them, remains to be seen as much as it is would be interesting to watch how he delivers his promise without being an AK!

Way to go..
